First up is the SECOND single release from Underoath! They dropped “On my Teeth” a few weeks ago and it was met with VERY positive reviews! A very classic Underoath sound, but with a twist… seemingly dropping their Christian values. Now that the dust has settled they’ve released a new single, “Rapture”, that was released on Apple Music and debuted on Daniel P. Carter’s BBC Rock Radio show.
To be honest, it really reminds me of the diction they took with Disambiguation (2010). Fans seem to be pretty upset with this direction. I know what you’re thinking, “The internet isn’t happy?! HOW SHOCKING”. Well it’s true, everyone was over the moon with the first release and now judging them on a “new direction” with the second single. Here’s an idea, maybe save your judgement for the April 6 release.
As you can clearly see, fans are divided on this one. Either it’s the BEST SONG EVER, or WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU GUYS! All I know is, I dig it. If every band just made every record sound the same with every release… music would be pretty boring. But I guess I’m just fancier than most when it comes to music taste. *Snarky Smile*
Off the Heels of kicking a photographer in the face, it looks like we have a new music video from Queens of the Stone Age! The video for ‘Head Like A Haunted House’ was directed by Liam Lynch, the guy who made the “United States of Whatever” song years ago and you can totally get that feel from this video. The video has a stop motion, clip art, south park feel to it… and I’m for it!
That seems to be all the new music for this Tuesday! I’m going to try to keep up with the new music posts going forward and if you want to recommend any new music that you think should be featured in my blog, just comment and I’ll have a listen! No, I can’t spin your buddies band on Power 104, but if they don’t suck I can feature them in New Music Tuesday. IF they don’t suck…
