Wow. I think we’re all kind of aware, but this Twitter Moment (click) is an eye-opener, for sure.
Makes you think twice.
But really, what can any of us do to stop this? More and more people consuming more and more stuff. Where/when does it stop? I mean, I’m not going to remember my cloth shopping bag every time. Actually, let me rephrase that… I never use a cloth shopping bag. I know. I’m a horrible person, but what am I supposed to do?
Plastic bags are convenient. Plastic wrap is convenient. Plastic storage containers are (you guessed it) convenient. I guess I’m maybe a ‘convenience junkie’, truth be told.
But I’m willing to change.
If you’ve got steps you take or things you do around your home to be less plastic-dependent, please leave them in the comments. I don’t WANT to be a horrible person, I just don’t see how any one of us can make a dent in the problem.
Besides, even if we do, it’s plastic… that dent will just pop itself out and it’ll be good (bad?) as new.
Good attitude, hey? Now, where’s my styrofoam coffee cup…?
