A new single and a new name for this duo. Death From Above were forced to add ‘1979’ to their moniker many years ago after they were sent a cease and desist letter from a record label with the same name (owned by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem). Apparently those legal issues have been resolved, because the band is now going by their original name. Freeze Me is the first single from their new album coming later this year. Eric Valentine (Queens Of The Stone Age) is producing. The band have a Canadian national tour confirmed this Fall and will spend the Summer playing festivals including Osheaga, Wayhome, Ottawa Bluesfest, and Festival D’Ete. Their last album, “The Physical World” won the Juno Award for Rock Album Of The Year and cemented them as major players in the US and Internationally.
