“Hedonic Hunger”, or in this case, thirst. Blame it on the dopamine. The ‘feel good’ neurotransmitter that holds those of us who are ‘impulse-challenged’ hostage.
Researchers now think that hordenine, a substance present in beer, stimulates the dopamine receptors in the brain, meaning that beer really does make you “feel good”.
I can’t wait to explain this to my wife! Maybe it’ll get me out of “Sober October”…
