The vote was 44 to 42. The opposition parties combined in a non confidence vote to defeat Christy Clark’s Liberal minority government. Speaker Steve Thomson did not vote. It brings 16 years of Liberal rule in BC to an end. Clark will now go to the Lieutenant Governor who will decide whether to call an election or ask NDP leader John Horgan to form a government with support of the Green Party. This is new stuff for BC and there is no timeframe on when the L.G. will make a decision.
