Downtown Kelowna will be full of activities for Canada Day festivities on Saturday, July 1. To accommodate the event, a number of road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect.
Water Street will be closed from Cawston Avenue to Sunset Drive from 6 a.m. on Friday, June 30, to 12 p.m. on Sunday, July 2. During this time, access to Delta Hotel and Prospera Place parking lots will be remain open.
On-street parking will be restricted for the entirety of the road closure on Water Street from Cawston Avenue to Sunset Drive. Parking on Bernard Avenue in front of Kerry Park and on Water Street in front of Stuart Park will be restricted from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m on Saturday, July 1.
Motorists are asked to obey traffic control personnel at all times for the safety of the large number of pedestrians anticipated.
The Mill Street parking lot will be closed from 10 a.m. to midnight on July 1, and the Dolphins parking lot will be closed from 6 a.m. on Friday, June 30 to 12 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, but monthly parkers in the Dolphins lot will be allowed access on June 30.
Public parking will be available at the Library Plaza Parkade located at 1360 Ellis Street and the Chapman Parkade at 345 Lawrence Avenue.
Some transit service disruptions and traffic delays may occur throughout the day due to road closures. All Route 2 North End buses will detour from Water Street to Cawston Avenue to Ellis Street and then follow regular routing from 6 a.m. on Friday, June 30 until 12 p.m. on Sunday, July 2.
