We were at Rusty’s yesterday with Sue Tyler – HUGE thanks to Dean & his team, btw – and I had one of the strangest experiences I’ve ever had.
I was sitting talking to Bill – music lover and Saskatchewan Roughriders fan – and talk turned to where he was from. Well, turns out I used to play in a band with a guy (bass player) from his hometown. Not that big a deal, but kinda cool…
Then I told him the name of the singer that that bass player and I used to play with, and he said “Hey, no way! He married my cousin!”. Wow! A bigger deal, and really a cool coincidence, but still not where this story is going…
Bill then said “I’m not sure if it’s him (the singer) or his brother (also a singer) but one of them sang my favourite song of ALL time.”
“What song is that?” I asked.
“Me, Myself & I” said Bill.
“F*ck off!” I exclaimed. “I wrote that song!”
True story. TOTALLY true story. What are the odds of that?? Sitting at a bar in Kelowna with a guy from Saskatchewan whose favourite song in the world is a song that I wrote. How does that even happen?
TOO crazy. Thanks, Bill! I’m not forgetting that one. Too cool.
